HelloFax is the simple and easy online fax solution. It’s not overly customizable, and could be accused of lacking depth, but it accomplishes everything one would expect from a fax service without any unnecessary fluff.

HelloFax pricing
All that user-friendliness comes with a price, however, and HelloFax is not the cheapest option on the market. That’s not to say it’s overpriced – the subscription tiers are set at $9.99, $19.99, and $39.99 per month, each offering increasing amounts of outbound faxes and supporting larger team sizes.
Considering that HelloFax actually offers one of the lowest page-per-month allowances of all of its competitors, the increased price may be hard to justify. Some other services actually offer double the page count for the same price.
If faxes aren’t a huge part of your business, however, and you just want something that’s clean and easy to work with, HelloFax remains a great choice.
If faxes are an even smaller part of your business, but still a necessary one, the HelloFax free version may be your best bet. It starts with 5 pages to send out at no cost, but you can get up to 20 more pages by completing tasks such as tweeting about HelloFax or importing your email contacts.
After the free pages are used, you can continue on a pay-as-you-go basis which isn’t too pricey. It’s about a dollar per fax for the next 10 pages, but it quickly drops to just 20 cents a page for any further pages.
Be aware that the free pages and the pay-as-you-go pages don’t reset monthly like the subscription pages do. Furthermore, you cannot receive faxes while on these plans, nor can you use the email to fax feature.
HelloFax features
The service is one of the few that supports electronic signatures, although the implementation is a little wonky. It’s easy to set up within the HelloFax portal, but actually using it on a document is another matter.
HelloFax has a subsidiary called HelloSign which, as you can imagine, is responsible for creating legally binding signatures under the 2000 U.S. Electronic Signature in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN). When you try to add your signature to a fax, you’ll be redirected to sign into HelloSign. It is integrated into HelloFax, but the appearance of switching between services is jarring.
Note also that there’s no mobile app. If you search for one, HelloSign will show up instead. That is not a fax app. It is still just document signing, and its uses extend beyond faxes.
One great quality of life feature is their integration with other programs and software. HelloFax supports most major online storage applications, including Box, DropBox, Google Drive, One Drive, and Evernote. That goes a long way towards making up for their less-than-stellar native archive and sorting abilities.
Another useful feature is the ability to keep your current fax number. If you are upgrading from a traditional fax machine to an online fax service, this is an invaluable offer. It makes the transition much smoother since you don’t have to alert every contact of the change. If you don’t have a preexisting number, HelloFax will assign you one from your area code.
Speaking of areas, HelloFax offers unlimited faxing to (the supported) international countries. At this time, you can fax to more than 70 countries internationally, and it’s unlikely they’re missing a country you would need.
